Online CDL Renewal
Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) holders are now able to renew their licenses online if they are self-certified in the Non-Excepted Interstate (NI) category for medical certification.
DOT Medical Certificates
The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) has issued an additional waiver for CDL Medical Certificates (DOT Medical Cards). This waiver extends the expiration date of CDL Medical Certificates as follows:
- Certificates that expire between March 1, 2021 and August 30, 2021 will expire on August 31, 2021
This will prevent license downgrades and elective medical visits, as well as alleviate demand on medical providers, during the State of Emergency.
This is the last extension that will be granted therefore the RMV encourages customers who are required to self-certify to do so as soon as possible in order to prevent the downgrade of their license. You can self-certify online at Mass.Gov/RMV.
